MCC is the first company to be formed under the Modern Group of companies. In partnership with EPC Groupe of France, MCC established Modern Chemicals and Services Company Ltd, (MCS). The core business of MCS is the production and supply of civil explosives and related technical services to the growing mining and construction industries in Saudi Arabia, and nearby regional markets.
MCC is also developing a 350,000 metric ton per annum Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN) project in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City on the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. LDAN is a critical component of Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil (ANFO), which is the most widely used explosive in the mining and civil construction industries. The project will provide backward integration by securing competitive long-term domestic supply of the required feedstock for the production of civil explosives.
